Gijs and Jente
2019
Gijs and Jente decided to elope in Edinburgh on the 10 year anniversary of their meeting. The resulting hot busy day right in the middle of the hectic Fringe Festival, was a sweet and calm contrast. Both lovers of history and academia, we selected Edinburgh’s working College of Physicians (specifically the library) as the venue for the “main event”. The two spent the morning briefly apart, with photographer Carole-Ann accompanying Gijs out for a coffee before capturing their “first look” in their bright apartment. After a lovely library ceremony which included excerpts from letters written to the couple from their family members (completely unsurprised by their decision to elope), we shared some cake and champagne, toured the college, and headed off around the crowded streets of Edinburgh exploring and capturing the newlyweds. They ended their first day as a married couple framed by the hazy Edinburgh skyline, after (I hope) the no-fuss wedding they dreamed of, just the two of them.
