Tania and Francesco
2019
When Tania and Francesco moved to Edinburgh in 2018 it was the first time they lived together in the same country. With friends and family all over the world, it made the most sense as the location for their wedding, the city they could finally call “their” home. What were their priorities for the wedding, I asked? Often the answer to this is photography and music, often food, more often booze. They just want their friends and family to all have fun, and not to have to worry about a thing. And so the journey began, first finding a unique, striking and historic backdrop, and what could be more perfect than one of the oldest buildings in Edinburgh within a stones throw of the castle. This wedding was to be captured by Lauren and Katy McGlynn, great fun to be around and up for anything, ideal for a wedding populated by numerous Italians in kilts and a significant percentage of the guests speaking little-to-no English. They love donuts, so we got some of the best from favourite Edinburgh bakery the Bearded Baker. They love one of their local guitar-mastering buskers, so we got him too. The day was a party, with many a guest missing their dinner because they were too busy up dancing between tables, and ending with a much-reduced number swaying to the DJ and sipping champagne. Language barriers forgotten, heals discarded, basking in the love of and for this gorgeous couple they travelled the world to celebrate.
